April 15, 2017: The Tononi Trio13-Feb-2017
Concert-goers will have the opportunity to hear three of the metropolitan area's finest artists when the Tononi Trio performs on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, NJ.
The Tononi Trio is comprised of violinist Laura Hamilton, principal assistant concert master of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra; cellist Lanny Paykin, a member of the Westchester Philharmonic and American Composers’ Orchestra; and pianist Elizabeth Martyn, who has appeared as collaborative pianist with many area musicians and was the Music Director of the USR from 2003-2014. Each is a superb soloist in their own right, and the group brings a winning combination of individual temperament and tight-knit collaboration to their interpretations. The Tononi Trio has performed frequently in the metropolitan area and has championed the works of women composers, bringing their exciting interpretations to the often neglected works of 19th century composers Lili Boulanger, Fanny Mendelssohn and Clara Schumann.
